The Blessings of Our Teachers

This afternoon I had a private lesson with Dakota, my coach for Dancesport. It was a good lesson but the best part of it was I finally told him about Arthur Murray. I've always been very hesitant to tell one of my dance teachers that I want to teach dance - it strikes me as incredibly arrogant to say, "I believe that I can do this just as good as you can." - and even more so now that I've been confirmed with Arthur Murray. I was suprised not only by how encouraging he was but how supportive. He changed the private to not just the execution of the dance but the technicalities. It was one of the most productive hours of dance class I've ever had. Afterwards he sat with me and told me about how he got started as a teacher, including his own experiences with Arthur Murray. I got a lot of useful advice.

I still need to talk to Becci, my other teacher, but it helps having his blessing.
